Baseball Game Preview: Tuscarora Huskies vs. Dominion Titans

Tuscarora has gone 8-2 against Dominion recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Huskies will square off against the Titans at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Tuscarora proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by eight) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Penfield 8-7.

Michael Kozikowski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Tuscarora: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Ian Sullivan was incredible, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Connor Quill was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Dominion came out on top against Potomac Falls last Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Titans blew past the Panthers 13-3. Considering the Titans have won three games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Dominion is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Tuscarora, their record is now 3-9.

Tuscarora came out on top in a nail-biter against Dominion when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 9-7. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
