Basketball Game Preview: Homestead Highlanders vs. Nicolet Knights + Official Tickets

For the first time this season, Homestead will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Nicolet Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

If Homestead beats Nicolet with 79 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Highlanders walked away with a 79-68 victory over Fond du Lac on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Highlanders.

Oliver Belot and Michael Rogers Jr. were among the main playmakers for Homestead as the former dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards and the latter went 7-for-16 to rack up 21 points. Belot's big performance that afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Grice, who posted five points in addition to six steals and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Nicolet was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 64-59 to Whitefish Bay.

Nicolet's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Homestead, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Homestead came up short against Nicolet when the teams last played back in February, falling 70-64. Can the Highlanders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
