Basketball Recap: Sierra Blanca Takes a Loss

Sierra Blanca was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-41 heartbreaker at the hands of the Job Corps Titans. The Vaqueros were probably out for revenge after losing 2-0 to them when the teams met back in November of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Among those leading the charge was TRENTON PETERSON, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Echo Stevenson, who posted 11 points and eight boards.

Sierra Blanca's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Job Corps, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-3.

Sierra Blanca will square off against Balmorhea at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Job Corps has already played their next matchup (against IDEA Rio Vista College Preparatory), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
