Estes Park extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 3-8 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Front Range Christian Falcons. If the Bobcats were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Falcons when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Isaac Hill made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Drake Kearney, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
As for Front Range Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.
On Front Range Christian's side, Haedan Morton was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Morton also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Front Range Christian is 6-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Morton was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Morton wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Max Morton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
While Estes Park had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
