Franklin has gone 8-2 against Socorro recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Franklin Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Socorro Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Socorro took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Franklin, who comes in off a win.

If Franklin beats Socorro with two goals on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Franklin had just enough and edged out Eastwood 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Socorro and Eastlake, and Socorro kept the tradition alive. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Eastlake who was credited with the win on Tuesday. Eastlake got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Socorro's three. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bulldogs came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 30th in Texas, while the Falcons are ranked 94th in Texas).

Juan Perez wasn't going to let Eastlake walk away unscathed as he scored both of Socorro's goals, bringing his season total up to nine goals.

Socorro's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those five matches. As for Franklin, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Franklin came up short against Socorro in their previous matchup on February 4th, falling 2-0. Can Franklin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
