Basketball Recap: Prescott Makes It 13 in a Row at Home

Prescott came tearing into Wednesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 75-33 win over the Flagstaff Eagles. Given the Badgers' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Eagles are ranked 155th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Prescott had a senior duo take command as Zane Gaul dropped a double-double on 29 points and 17 rebounds and Uriah Tenette went 9 of 17 en route to 25 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. Tenette's evening made it 41 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Magnett, who posted eight points and three steals.

Prescott's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Flagstaff, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prescott will square off against Goldwater at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Prescott is facing Goldwater at the right time seeing as Goldwater is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Flagstaff, they will face off against Coconino at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
