Recap: Grand Island Islanders vs. Fremont Tigers

The Grand Island Islanders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 66-53 victory over Fremont. The victory was some much needed relief for Grand Island as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Grand Island had a senior duo take command as Mukadi Mukoma scored 25 points along with six rebounds and Evan McDonald scored 17 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McDonald has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Babur Choul, who scored eight points.

Grand Island's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Fremont, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grand Island will take on Lincoln North Star at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Lincoln North Star's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches. As for Fremont, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Omaha South at 7:30 p.m. Fremont is on a three-game streak of home losses, Omaha South a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
