Basketball Recap: Cassadaga Valley Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cassadaga Valley can now relate to. They lost 70-50 to the Frewsburg Bears on Friday. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Frewsburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jadyn Trocki led the charge by dropping a double-double with 15 points and 12 assists. Those 12 assists gave Trocki a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Jimerson, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 19 points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Cassadaga Valley's loss dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Frewsburg, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Cassadaga Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Frewsburg, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-47 win against Randolph on the 5th.
