Volleyball Recap: Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Comes Up Short

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Roncalli Royals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Braves of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-15, 25-15.

Kyle Conner paced Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's offense, picking up eight kills. Conner got some help from Henry Gallagher and his 14 assists.

Matthew Dial was nothing short of spectacular for Roncalli: he had 29 assists and 11 digs. Dial has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last 45 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Hill, who had eight digs and two aces.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Roncalli, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard on the 16th. As for Roncalli, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Franklin Central on the 16th.
