Softball Recap: Orem's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

The third road game was the charm for Orem, as they earned their first road win of the season. They put the hurt on the Richfield Wildcats with a sharp 14-2 victory on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Orem got a massive performance out of Hannah Maylett, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Sadie Groneman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Orem was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Orem's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Richfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Orem will take on Taylorsville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Richfield, they will square off against Shelley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
