Basketball Recap: Galena Takes a Loss

Galena lost against St. Mary's-Colgan back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Galena Bulldogs took a blow against the St. Mary's-Colgan Panthers, falling 54-23. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Galena and nudges their season record down to 4-9. As for St. Mary's-Colgan, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Galena will head out to take on Riverton on Tuesday. Galena is facing Riverton at the right time seeing as Riverton is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for St. Mary's-Colgan, they will venture away from home to face off against Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Mary's-Colgan's defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Independence's offense will have their work cut out for them.
