Pine Lake Prep fell to Lake Norman Charter 51-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Bessemer City made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,911 from 13,026. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 35-0 victory over the Yellowjackets last week.
Thomas Jefferson Academy's dynamic duo of Mason Martin and Efrim Borders proved tough for Avery County to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Martin threw for 121 yards and Borders had 93 yards receiving.
The Gryphons' dynamic duo of Martin and Borders proved to be unstoppable against the Vikings, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Cedric Mackey was the best running back in 1A Conference 3 this week. He ran for 74 yards on 29 carries as Bessemer City fell to Avery County. Teammate Tyler Bess added to the ground attack by rushing for 12 yards.
Borders was the best receiver in the league this week as Jerry Cash's team lost to the Vikings.
Martin put up the best numbers through the air as the Gryphons fell to Avery County.
Thomas Jefferson Academy's Martin and Borders have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Martin has thrown for 372 yards this season, while Borders has 15 catches for 246 yards. Larry Boone's team's Mackey leads the league in rushing yards with 330.
Highland Tech led 1A Conference 3 in points allowed with 25.
