Volleyball Recap: West Wendover Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Silver Stage last Saturday, West Wendover came back down to earth. The Wolverines came up short against the North Tahoe Lakers on Friday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While West Wendover was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-9.

Emma Prieto paced West Wendover's offense, picking up seven kills. Prieto got some help from Savannah Jimenez and her 29 assists. Jimenez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Marlo Johnson, who had 14 digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September.

West Wendover has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for North Tahoe, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-4.

West Wendover didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Coral Academy of Science - Reno on the 11th. As for North Tahoe, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Battle Mountain on the 11th.
