Basketball Game Preview: Edison Red Raiders vs. Killian Cougars

Edison is 0-4 against Killian since January of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Edison Red Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Killian Cougars at 7:30 p.m.

Edison is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Miami Beach. The Red Raiders were down 50-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jean Viterlens Joseph, who posted six points and eight rebounds. Michael Montalvo was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Killian can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They blew past Greater Miami Academy 61-39. The match marked the Cougars' most dominant win of the season.

Edison better keep an eye on Christian Torres. He was instrumental in Killian's win, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards. Torres' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Matthew Gonzalez, who earned eight points.

Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Killian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Edison lost to Killian on the road by a decisive 66-48 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Edison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
