Volleyball Recap: Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Danni Ledford and Emberlyn Casebolt

It was a good run, but Rabun Gap-Nacoochee unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Habersham Central Raiders by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee actually scored more points across those five sets (111-106), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 14-25, 25-17, 28-26, 20-18.

Emberlyn Casebolt and Danni Ledford certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Casebolt had 13 digs and four aces, while Ledford had 27 digs, 12 kills, and one block. Casebolt is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Habersham Central, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Looking ahead, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee will challenge Summit Charter at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Habersham Central, they will take on Franklin County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
