Volleyball Recap: Spanish River Comes Up Short

Spanish River was the 2-0 winner over Viera when they last played one another back in October of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Sharks fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Eloise Baum paced Spanish River's offense, picking up five kills. Baum got some help from Luna De Oliveira and her seven assists. Finally, Maggie Wolf kept Spanish River's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Spanish River's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Viera, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-14 record this season.

While Spanish River had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
