Soccer Game Preview: ConVal vs. Milford

The ConVal Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Milford Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. ConVal's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

ConVal is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Hampshire's top teams: Oyster River, who was ranked fifth at the time (ConVal was ranked 16th). The Cougars fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. ConVal haven't had much luck with Oyster River recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Milford). They put the hurt on Laconia with a sharp 6-0 victory on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Milford considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

Having lost for the first time this season, ConVal fell to 7-1-3. As for Milford, their win ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8-1.

ConVal beat Milford 2-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
