Basketball Game Preview: Grundy Golden Wave vs. Council Cobras

Grundy is a perfect 10-0 against Council since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Grundy Golden Wave will welcome the Council Cobras at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Grundy humbled Hurley with a 76-38 victory. The Golden Wave have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Council hadn't done well against Twin Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Council escaped with a win against Twin Valley by the margin of a single free throw, 40-39.

Grundy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points over those games. As for Council, their win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-12.

Everything came up roses for Grundy against Council in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 71-35 victory. Will Grundy repeat their success, or does Council have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
