Central Valley put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 46-0 victory over the Burwell Longhorns. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 32-point advantage.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than William Pokorny, who rushed for 59 yards and one touchdown. Those 59 rushing yards gave Pokorny a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Nekoliczak, who threw for 110 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 78.6% of his passes.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Central Valley proved: they limited Burwell to a paltry 2.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Landon Shoemaker for the heroic effort on defense: he. Central Valley didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.5.

Central Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Talan Wood and Trenton Genereux.

Central Valley's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Burwell, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
