Preview: Albemarle Patriots vs. Louisa County Lions
The Albemarle Patriots will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Louisa County Lions at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Albemarle suffered a rough 49-25 loss at the hands of Western Albemarle. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Albemarle in their matchups with Western Albemarle: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Louisa County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. The contest between Louisa County and Fluvanna County wasn't particularly close, with Louisa County falling 50-34.
Louisa County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Peyton Brady, who scored 11 points along with 5 steals, and Taylor Yeatts who scored 8 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Brady scored a full 32.4% of Louisa County's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Albemarle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Louisa County, they have fallen quite a ways from their 23-4 record last season and are now at 1-4.
Albemarle came up short against Louisa County when the teams last played back in February, falling 39-34. Can Albemarle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
