Basketball Recap: Freeman Extends Winning Streak to Four

Freeman had won three straight games and Rylee Peters did her part to make it four on Tuesday. The Freeman Flyers put the hurt on the Irene/Wakonda Eagles with a sharp 47-25 victory thanks in part to Peters, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. Peters is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season.

Another player making a difference was Cadence Hofer, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 10 points and four steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Freeman's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Irene/Wakonda, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Freeman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-31 victory against Bridgewater/Emery on the 9th. As for Irene/Wakonda, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 41-30 loss against Gayville-Volin on the 10th.
