Soccer Recap: Millard South Takes a Loss

Millard South came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 4-1 to the Bellevue West Thunderbirds. While losing is never fun, Millard South can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska soccer rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Bellevue West are ranked fifth).

Millard South's goal came courtesy of Kathryn McLaughlin, who's now up to 16 this season.

Millard South has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Bellevue West, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millard South will host Papillion-LaVista South at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Papillion-LaVista South's last five matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Bellevue West, they will square off against Omaha Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bellevue West will be up against Omaha Central's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.75 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
