Nichols won the last time they faced Cardinal O'Hara and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Nichols Vikings blew past the Cardinal O'Hara Hawks 71-47. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Hawks are ranked 500th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Nichols to victory were Mitchell Masiello and Tre Paulfrey. Masiello went 7 for 9 en route to 19 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Paulfrey went 7 of 10 on his way to 18 points and three steals. What's more, Masiello also posted a 78% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in January of 2024. Andrew BebAk was another key player, putting up seven points.

Nichols' victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Cardinal O'Hara, their defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-14.

Nichols wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-43 win against Olmsted on the 7th. As for Cardinal O'Hara, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-46 loss against St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute on the 6th.
