Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Poly walked away with it. They took down the Aberdeen Eagles 52-36 on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Engineers as they're now sitting on six straight.
Leading Poly to victory were Alexis Smothers and London Elliot. Smothers posted 14 points, while Elliot put up 12 points in addition to six assists and six steals. What's more, Smothers also posted a 57% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in March of 2024. Sydney Jones also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Poly's victory bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Aberdeen, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-8.
As of now, neither Poly nor Aberdeen have any future games scheduled.
