The home team had come away the winner the last four times Philip Barbour and Bridgeport had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Colts took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians on Thursday. Colts fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Indians since on Thursday.
Avery McDaniel was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off 13 hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, Katelyn Cooper was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Payton Holbert was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Brooke Toothman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Carleigh Tuttle, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Philip Barbour hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like North Marion struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Philip Barbour came out on top in a nail-biter against North Marion when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-7. Will the Colts repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
