Softball Recap: Washington County's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for Washington County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past the Fruitdale Pirates 13-6 on Friday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by seven runs or more this season.

Washington County let Bella Turner and Rylee Snow run wild. Turner went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Snow went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Turner is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. Allie Williams was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

The win snapped Washington County's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-6 record. As for Fruitdale, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Washington County will face off against Thomasville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Thomasville's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Washington County's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fruitdale, they will challenge Choctaw County at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
