Softball Recap: Silver Extends Winning Streak to Five

Silver entered their tilt with Bloomfield on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Bobcats. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Colts, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Silver got a massive performance out of Maria Ruelaz, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Ruelaz has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Nemeth, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Silver was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .417 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Silver's record now sits at 11-3. As for Bloomfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Silver will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cobre at 6:00 p.m. on April 1. As for Bloomfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 12-5 defeat against Santa Fe on the 22nd.
