Basketball Game Preview: Waterville Shockers vs. Pe Ell Trojans

Waterville has won 11 straight games at home, while Pe Ell has won 11 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Waterville Shockers will welcome the Pe Ell Trojans at 12:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Waterville: 28.2, Pe Ell: 22.4) so any points scored will be well earned.

Last Thursday, Waterville was able to grind out a solid victory over Pateros, taking the game 49-41.

Meanwhile, Pe Ell beat Taholah 50-38 on Saturday.

Pe Ell found their leader in sophomore Maisy King, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 17 boards. The dominant performance gave King a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Peyton Zock, who posted four points in addition to 16 boards and four blocks.

Pe Ell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 31 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Waterville is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points over those games. Pe Ell's win bumped their record up to 21-0.
