Basketball Recap: Grand Valley Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Grand Valley had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They took down the Cedaredge Bruins 63-47. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 58-52 two weeks ago.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grand Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Porter Ostermiller, who went 5 of 9 to rack up 13 points in addition to eight assists and eight rebounds. Ostermiller is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Daniel Gronewoller was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards.

Grand Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matchups.

Several Bruins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josh Scott, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rylan Brooks, who posted 17 points.

Grand Valley pushed their record up to 9-10 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points over those games. As for Cedaredge, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grand Valley will face off against Roaring Fork at 4:00 p.m. on February 15th. As for Cedaredge, they will challenge Meeker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
