Baseball Game Preview: Centerville Tigers vs. Harleton Wildcats

The Centerville Tigers will face off against the Harleton Wildcats on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Centerville 3, Harleton 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Centerville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Garrison by a score of 9-5.

Centerville got a big performance out of Jacob Brooke, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jake Pineda, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Harleton entered their tilt with Alba-Golden on Thursday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They didn't even let the Panthers on the board, marking their second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

Harleton's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Centerville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4-1 record this season.

Centerville was able to grind out a solid victory over Harleton in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 7-4. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
