Baseball Recap: Orosi Comes Up Short

After flying high against Wonderful College Prep Academy on Tuesday, Orosi came back down to earth. The Cardinals fell just short of the Summit Charter Collegiate Academy Bears by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 11-1.

Arturo Alvardo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Christopher Lopez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Orosi's loss dropped their record down to 10-12-1. As for Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orosi will head out to square off against Lindsay at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Orange Cove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Bears surely won't give up without a fight.
