Recap: Madison Mohawks vs. Brookville Blue Devils
The Madison Mohawks lost against the Brookville Blue Devils back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Madison fell 65-54 to Brookville.
When it comes to explaining why Madison lost, one person who can't be blamed is Grady Combs. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Aiden Grooms was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Brookville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braedan Smart out in front who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jace Wood, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Brookville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Arcanum at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Arcanum focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Brookville, they will head out on the road to face off against Dixie at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
