Basketball Recap: Wabasha-Kellogg Takes a Loss

Wabasha-Kellogg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were dealt a 71-32 loss at the hands of the Chatfield Gophers. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-17.

Wabasha-Kellogg's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Brielle Adams, who went 7 of 16 to rack up 17 points and eight boards, and Kylee Metcalf, who posted four points and four steals. What's more, Adams also posted a 44% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Annalise Wobbe, who had seven points and 14 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Wabasha-Kellogg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in ten consecutive games.

Wabasha-Kellogg's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Chatfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-14.

Coming up, Wabasha-Kellogg will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lewiston-Altura at 7:15 p.m. As for Chatfield, they will head out to take on Plainview-Elgin-Millville at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
