Recap: Countryside Christian Minutemen vs. Saint Francis Catholic Wolves
The Countryside Christian Minutemen suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Thursday. They were dealt a 73-36 loss at the hands of Saint Francis Catholic. Countryside Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-20.
Saint Francis Catholic was led to victory by Liam Banks and Jonah Powers. Banks scored 22 points, while Powers scored 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Powers has scored all season. Brett Thomas was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Countryside Christian are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12. As for Saint Francis Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Countryside Christian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Cedar Key at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Cedar Key is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Saint Francis Catholic will take on Gainesville Christian Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gainesville Christian Community is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
