Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cristo Rey Jesuit). They walked away with a 34-25 victory over the Tekoa Academy Knight on Friday. The score was all tied up 12-12 at the break, but the Lions were the better team in the second half.

Cristo Rey Jesuit was led to victory by Mayte Hernandez and Jacora Dearman. Hernandez went 9 for 11 on her way to 21 points, while Dearman posted seven points and six rebounds. What's more, Hernandez also racked up two steals, the most she's had since back in January of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Cristo Rey Jesuit and bumps their season record up to 5-6. As for Tekoa Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Cristo Rey Jesuit will take on Bob Hope at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have allowed few points on average, (Cristo Rey Jesuit: 20.5, Bob Hope: 28.4) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Tekoa Academy, they will square off against Pro-Vision Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
