Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Hadlie Drummond and Ava Hong Lead HOPE Academy to Victory

HOPE Academy entered their tilt with Carolina Christian on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lions. The Royals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: HOPE Academy took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-7, 25-12.

HOPE Academy was led to victory by Ava Hong and Hadlie Drummond. Hong had nine aces, while Drummond had seven aces. Those nine aces gave Hong a new career-high.

HOPE Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Carolina Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. HOPE Academy will take on rival Lee Park Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Carolina Christian is set to challenge their familiar foe Grace Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
