Arcata extended the longest winning streak in Humboldt-Del Norte - Big 5 this week by beating Del Norte, 26-0. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Arcata made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,721 from 4,970. The improvement came about via a 26-0 victory over the Warriors last week.
Del Norte's Dylan Pease and Aaron Fitch have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Pease has thrown for 1164 yards this season, while Fitch, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 30 catches for 505 yards. Dave Filippini's team's Tyler Keil leads the league in rushing yards with 1414.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Eureka takes on Fortuna. The Loggers are in third place, while the Huskies are in second place.
Fortuna led Humboldt-Del Norte - Big 5 in scoring this week after putting up 29 points on McKinleyville.
