Softball Preview: Germantown Warhawks vs. Brookfield Central Lancers

Germantown is 9-1 against Brookfield Central since May of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Germantown Warhawks will head out on the road to face off against the Brookfield Central Lancers at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Germantown can't be too worried about heading out to take on Brookfield Central: they just beat Menomonee Falls at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. Germantown put the hurt on Menomonee Falls with a sharp 7-1 victory on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for Germantown.

Kylie Otto spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered one run (which was unearned) on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Kayla Preiss was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Meanwhile, Brookfield Central made easy work of Brookfield East on Wednesday and carried off a 9-3 win.

At the plate, Gianna Caravella was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Daina Bieck, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Germantown pushed their record up to 12-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Brookfield Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
