Volleyball Game Preview: Marina Vikings vs. Los Alamitos Griffins

Marina hasn't had much luck against Los Alamitos recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Marina Vikings will venture away from home to square off against the Los Alamitos Griffins at 6:00 p.m.

Marina is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They lost 3-0 to Newport Harbor.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-13, 25-16.

Fountain Valley typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Los Alamitos proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Barons 3-0. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Los Alamitos walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-15, 25-21, 25-20.

Marina's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Los Alamitos, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Marina might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Los Alamitos in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Marina avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
