Football Recap: Toll Gate Comes Up Short

Toll Gate had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-8 to make it five. They had to suffer through a 30-0 loss at the hands of the Davies Career & Tech Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 42-16 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Nick Bruner threw for 75 yards on ten of 19 attempts. Jonathan Almeida was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards.

As for Davies Career & Tech, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. Their defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a point in their last three contests.

Tyrell Barros produced another solid performance throwing for 283 yards and four TDs while completing 74.2% of his passes. He has been hot, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last five times he's played. Davies Career & Tech also got help from Edgar Melendez, who showed off his sure hands for 118 receiving yards.

Toll Gate wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 28-0 loss against Exeter-West Greenwich/Prout on the 1st. As for Davies Career & Tech, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 40-0 victory against Juanita Sanchez Complex on the 1st.
