Softball Recap: Charleston Wins Going Away Against Paris

Charleston won the last time they faced Paris and things went their way on Tuesday too. Charleston put the hurt on Paris with a sharp 14-6 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Hannah Ward spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brynlea Wilson, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Leah Oberlies was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Charleston's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Paris, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Charleston didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-1 defeat against Lavaca on the 21st. As for Paris, they have also already played their next contest, a 15-8 loss against Dardanelle on the 20th.
