El Dorado hasn't had much luck against Lake Hamilton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolves at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
El Dorado will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Friday, then bounced right back against Hot Springs on Tuesday. The Wildcats blew past the Trojans 16-6. Considering the Wildcats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Meanwhile, Lake Hamilton made easy work of Little Rock Christian Academy on Monday and carried off a 14-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Hadison Butterbredt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Lake Hamilton got a massive performance out of Kaitlyn Guthrie, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave Guthrie a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Remy Wozniak, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, two RBI, and one run.
Lake Hamilton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. Their batting average was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .429 that Little Rock Christian Academy posted.
The victory made it two in a row for Lake Hamilton and bumps their season record up to 9-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for El Dorado, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13-1.
El Dorado couldn't quite finish off Lake Hamilton in their previous matchup back in April and fell 11-9. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
