Recap: Lander Valley Tigers vs. Pinedale Wranglers
On Saturday, the Lander Valley Tigers faced the Pinedale Wranglers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lander Valley might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 55-46 to Pinedale, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Lander Valley has not had much luck with Pinedale recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Elyn Bowers was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds and three steals for Pinedale. Bowers hasn't dropped below 19 points for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Erica Wilson, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Lander Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Pinedale, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lander Valley will take on Jackson Hole at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson Hole comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last 12 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Pinedale, they will head out on the road to face off against Big Piney at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Pinedale's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine games.
