Sehome had lost six straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 4-14 to make it seven. They came up short against the Blaine Borderites, falling 14-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Jacinta Lewis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Rebekah Peterson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
As for Blaine, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
On Blaine's side, Shaylie Daniels made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Daniels was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
Daniels wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mesa Puls, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs Puls has posted since back in March. Maddi Musto also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
