Basketball Preview: Mountain View Thunder vs. Heritage Timberwolves
Mountain View and the Timberwolves are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Mountain View Thunder will be playing at home against the Heritage Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Mountain View was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-44 to the Hilanders.
Despite the defeat, Mountain View got a solid performance out of Nina Peterson, who scored 13 points along with five steals. Peterson hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Mylee Thompson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Heritage's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 62-28 loss at the hands of Prairie. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Heritage in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now lost four in a row.
Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Heritage, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Mountain View against the Timberwolves in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 70-30 win. Will Mountain View repeat their success, or do the Timberwolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
