Softball Recap: Lake Cormorant Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Lake Cormorant's offense. They came up short against the South Panola Tigers on Monday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, Lake Cormorant's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lake Cormorant saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was MaKenzie Nails, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Nails has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Lake Cormorant's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for South Panola, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lake Cormorant will take on rival Center Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, South Panola is set to square off against their familiar foe Saltillo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Panola is on a nine-game streak of home wins, Saltillo a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
