Recap: Riverdale Ridge Ravens vs. Severance Silver Knights
The Riverdale Ridge Ravens stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by Severance on the road to the tune of 71-39. The win was just what Riverdale Ridge needed coming off of a 75-45 loss in their prior match.
Brihanna Crittendon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds. Crittendon is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Cimonie Martinez, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Severance's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erin Crownhart, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Attley Helzer, who scored 15 points.
Riverdale Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Severance, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverdale Ridge will take on Niwot at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Niwot will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Riverdale Ridge is ranked 18th). Severance won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Thompson Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th.
