Football Game Preview: Petal Panthers vs. Meridian Wildcats + How To Watch

The Petal Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Meridian Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Petal is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Pearl just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 21-14 to the Pirates. The game was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Panthers couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Meridian challenged Northwest Rankin on Friday. The Wildcats took a hard 31-12 fall against the Cougars.

Meridian's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Petal, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.

Petal strolled past Meridian when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 34-19. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
