Recap: Collins Tigers vs. Heidelberg Oilers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Collins Tigers can now relate to. They took a 22-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oilers on Friday. Collins lost against Heidelberg in their previous head to head back in October, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 56-7 score last time.
Travon Magee threw for 94 yards on eight of 12 attempts. Lazayveon Lowe was his top target, picking up 29 receiving yards.
Leading Heidelberg to victory were Chase Craft and Julius Bradley. Craft rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, while Bradley rushed for 161 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Craft really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.
Collins' defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Heidelberg, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Collins does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Heidelberg is on the road again on Friday and play against Raleigh at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Raleigh: 11.4, Heidelberg: 16) so any points scored will be well earned.
