Baseball Recap: Village Tech Gets the Win

After low-scoring totals in their previous six contests, Village Tech brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They put the hurt on the Trinity Leadership Tigers with a sharp 20-12 win on Tuesday. The Viper Squid not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 19, 2024.

Village Tech got a massive performance out of Nicolas Soto, who went 1-for-4 with six RBI, four runs, and one stolen base. Those six RBI gave Soto a new career-high. Preston Ross was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Village Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Village Tech's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Trinity Leadership, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Trinity Leadership beat Village Tech by a score of 12-11 on Monday.
